Reasons to be excited?

Alright so here is the scenario turns out after my interview Disney couldn't locate my application to begin the "next step" in the process. My heart almost dropped when I found out and I frantically said "I'll send you another copy right now!". Well turns out Disney was very nice about it they actually said it was a problem that they had created and was a very rare accident. I wouldn't take that though. I decided I would print out a new form and fill it out. But leave the old date on it. Everything eas fine and the interviewer told me not to worry and that if she doesn't get in contact with me to assume that Disney go the application. So in my haste to fill out and send in my application I accidentally forgot to check a few of the boxes in the personal data section. Worse part about it I didn't even know I didn't check them....Ugh...so fast forward to today at 3 phone rings...I look over and it says "Private Caller"...I'm automatically skeptical that it's just some telemarketer...so I answer
"Hello?"
"Hi we're trying to reach Michael Coleman"
"This is Michael..."
"Hi Michael this is (forgot her name) with the Disney Career Start Program following up on your application re-entry. You didn't answer some questions in the personal data section."
"Which questions were these? Where on the application?"
My heart dropped I thought for sure they were sick of me and my application problems and were going to recommend that I reapply next time.
"They are on the second sheet of the application. I'm just calling to get the answers."
I guess she could hear the nervousness in my voice.

After I answer the one or two questions she thanks me for my time and I think her for giving me another call to make sure it's right.

Now this may not seem like too big of a deal. But here is my thinking. They are obviously looking over applications and interviews. So why would they notify me twice that my application was wrong. No other business would do that. I have to think that Disney is putting a lot of care into this and it excites me that no matter how much bad luck I run into with this, I still have a shot!

So if you feel like you don't know if you're going to get in or don't know how you did. Trust me you have no idea what they're thinking because there's no way in the world you had a more confusing/annoying interview/application process than I did. Keep you heads up guys and buy some shorts because I feel like we're all going to Florida!!!! :)

This is hilarious and gut wrenching

So here is the current situation I'm in. As I wait for my letter/email from Disney saying Congrats you're in. I find myself thinking about when I'm going to bring getting all wrapped up in planning and then getting slapped in the face by the thought of "HEY YOU'RE NOT IN YET YA BIG DUMMY!!!". All I say is damn this sucks...

Also side not I was listening to my ipod today and heard 3 songs with reference to Disney...

Watch My Feet by Lil Wayne "Mickey Mouse cheese hip hop Walt Disney"

Ambitions of Musicians by Charles Hamilton "This is written but off the top I'm the Mad Hatter"

and then Toy Story by Charles Hamilton...too many lines to name it mentions Woody and Buzz a lot though.

Second post!!!

OK so I'm tired about talking about myself this was supposed to be a part 2 about me...but you know I think everyone gets the idea. Today I want to talk about a little Disney history. But from my point of view so not actual/factual historical information here. Couple of fun facts from my favorite movies.

Ponicchio has my favorite quote from any Disney movie ever made. It can also be heard at the star of the Wishes fireworks show. "Star light star bright first star I see tonight I wish I may I wish I might have the wish I wish tonight." This quote means a lot to me now. It's one of those quotes that I will never forget no matter how long I go without hearing it. Of course hearing it in the Wishes music makes a tear or 2 come to my eye. I'm not sure why but for some reason this Disney quote reminds me of my grandmother more than any other.

The Lion King is probably the most enjoyable Disney movie ever made in my opinion. Fun fact when I was young I used to pretend to be Simba LOL I'm embarrassed.

Toy Story is the best Pixar movie ever made. I think it's the best movie of it's genre and yes that includes "Dreamworks" "Shrek" series. To me Toy Story is millions times better than Shrek. Not really a fun fact about the movie but I used to have a Buzz Light Year toy that talked...I'm going to look for it when I'm done.

One other quick fact for me in the Magic Kingdom the only restaurant I've eaten at is the Star Light Cafe...sad I know. :)

Catchup/History...

So this is a bit of a biography so that those people at the DIS can get to know me better. Obviously number one my name is Devin Coleman. I'm 21 years old and live in a small town of Florence, South Carolina. I've pretty much been a Disney fan my whole life thanks to my Grandmother. She instilled my love for Disney at an early age. As a matter of fact I went to Disney world 4 times before I was even 10. I have only been 3 times since. I'm a person of repetition. Every time I go to Disney World I go to the Magic Kingdom. I've only been to Epcot once and we didn't like it too much. (I was young) My favorite Disney Character is Mickey Mouse no doubt followed by Donald Duck. Favorite Movie is the Lion King.

However I do have a life outside of Disney. First I LOVE sports. I'm an absolute nut for Carolina Football. (That would be SC of course) I like other USC sports also I go to many baseball and basketball games but football just dominates them all. I'm actually worried about missing all the games for the first time in my life. But I guess working at Disney is an acceptable reason to not go to any games for the first time in probably 6 years.

Secondly I love music. I like to play well used to like to play guitar. Haven't played in a while. I like most kinds of music from rock classic rock grunge rap old school rap r&b and dance music. Favorite songs per genre:

Rap: All the way turnt up by Travis Porter
Old School Rap: What's the Difference by Dr Dre and a lot of other people
Rock: Historia Calamitatum By Rise Against
Classic Rock: Back In Black by ACDC
Grunge: Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
Dance: Sandstorm by Darude

This is all for my first post. Be sure to check back in periodically for the rest. Thanks for reading.
